Minor Oral Surgery
Your Local NHS Minor Oral Surgery Service at 44 Dental Care
For more than 15 years, 44 Dental Care has been an approved provider of NHS Intermediate Minor Oral Surgery (IMOS) for Leicester and Leicestershire.
Our service is led by Mr Shenoy – Specialist Oral Surgeon (GDC-registered), supported by a dedicated team of experienced IMOS dental nurses.
We treat NHS patients who have been referred by their own dentist for minor oral surgery procedures that cannot be carried out safely in general practice.
Our aim is simple: to provide safe, gentle, and comfortable treatment that relieves pain, restores oral health, and helps you feel at ease every step of the way.

How NHS Referrals Work
You cannot self-refer to this NHS service.
If your dentist feels you need minor oral surgery, they will refer you electronically via the NHS Dental Referral System (DERS).
Once your referral is triaged and accepted, our IMOS team will contact you directly to arrange your appointment.
You’ll receive written confirmation with details of your procedure, what to bring, and how to prepare.
What Treatments We Provide
We carry out a wide range of NHS minor oral surgery procedures, including:
- Surgical tooth and root removal
- Wisdom-tooth extractions
- Apicectomy (root-end surgery)
- Soft-tissue procedures (biopsies, cyst removal, frenectomy)
- Exposure of impacted teeth for orthodontic treatment
- Pre-prosthetic surgery (smoothing bone, removing small growths)
- Sedation-assisted oral surgery (where appropriate)
All treatments are performed gently under local anaesthetic, with IV sedation available if clinically indicated.
